if there's any kind of positive to this, it's that I assume the NCAA would siphon off all the money intended for women's sports and plow it into men's sports anyway (hi USSF), so under the current structure and management, sponsors wouldn't get what they wanted for their money in the first place.
I can't wait for the courts to finish the NCAA, I only hope they do so quickly enough to separate that organization from the piles of money in the vaults so that it can be put to its intended use. Not to say that its replacement will necessarily be significantly better (gestures at pro sports) but it certainly can't be worse.
