All of this shows that it's never about the money. It's about power and control. The men who run ESPN and NCAA, and let's throw in the NBA, who runs the WNBA, could have been making a pile of money all this time, but they chose to suppress women's sports. Nobody watches/women's sports don't make money tropes are over.
The new media rights agreement the NCAA signed a few months ago is more money than previous, but it's a terrible deal. WBB should have been broken out for about the same amount as the new value of the total contract. We have to wait almost another decade to get a better deal.
So well said about the lost potential viewership from ESPN. Hopefully they feel the mea culpa, look at the current ratings and never bury women's hoops again!
