I know imposter syndrome isn’t rational but you (& BIAD) were the OGs who were not only covering women’s sports in terms of games at a time when few were but you were the only ones covering sexism across sports in a deep way. From my view your work has been similar to the early days of the NWSL you described here — you were doing it at a time when there was less attention and resources and that was necessary to get to a place where there are many more voices. I’m sorry that life has made it hard to be more in the center of the recent growth in women’s sports media but your work still matters! And even when you’re not writing as often, you’re having an impact on those of us who connect in the Power Plays slack which only exists because of you.
